A fairytale of environmental proportions!  Get ready for wild adventure in this original comedy about protecting the environment. The Florida Everglades are in danger and it's up to goofy junior Flown Ranger Dudley R. Spoonbill to save them. Join in the fun as a young Floridian Roseate Spoonbill named Dudley tries to save his bird friends from danger as they migrate south for the winter. Dudley must use Florida's natural resources and landmarks to guide the flock. There's just one problem: the Three Little Pigs are tearing down the Everglades as fast as they can!  Dudley's hilarious adventures in the Everglades bring him face to face with all sorts of far out fairy tale characters who have lost their homes thanks to the destructive pigs. Dudley must use every ounce of determination and cunning to outsmart the swine and save the Everglades homes of his friends and lead hundreds of birds to safety.

Cultural Treasures Education Program

Sharing the History of Tarpon Springs

Make history come alive for your students...

The City of Tarpon Springs presents a new education program for fourth grade students and teachers. History posters and “traveling trunks” bring the rich cultural heritage of Tarpon Springs right into your classroom. The history poster is available to teachers at no charge. (Email your request). The poster shows photographs, text and artwork identifying the four important eras in the history of the area: the Indian Era, the Early Settlers, the Booming 1920s, and the Sponge Industry and Greek  Immigration.

Traveling trunks, which can be borrowed by teachers for display and discussion in the classroom, contain historical items that illustrate life in past centuries, and reproductions of vintage photographs that document the community’s heritage.
